FAQS

We unfortunately cannot accommodate additional guests. We are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. Thank you for understanding!

We love your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event. We encourage you to use this evening as a date night!

We’d love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day. Dress code is formal attire.

The ceremony will be held outdoors. Ladies, don’t worry about your heels, you won’t be walking on grass!

Yes, the drinks are on us and the hangover is on you!

We are having an “unplugged ceremony” (no phones or cameras). The greatest gift you can give us is being fully present as we say “I do”. We have hired professionals to capture this moment for us and we promise to share our photos as soon as we receive them. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you’d like!

Yes! Our venue is a private property, and since we’ll be the only event on-site, there will be plenty of parking available for all guests.

Everything will be held at Whitehall Mansion, 3845 Lake Rd. N, Brockport, NY, 14420.

Our Story

Jen and Matt’s story began long before they ever spoke a word to each other. Back in sophomore year of high school (2012), they went to the same school and even shared gym class. They knew of each other-but that was about it. Jen will happily tell you she didn’t like Matt at first, assuming he was just one of “those” popular kids.

That all changed during the swimming unit in gym class, when Matt suddenly noticed Jen. Interesting timing, right? A few casual conversations followed, but little did Jen know, Matt was already plotting a way to get to know her better.

Enter Model UN: a sophomore-year simulation where students role-played as diplomats representing different countries to debate global issues. By coincidence (or fate), both Jen and Matt were assigned North Korea, though they were placed in different debate rooms. Matt, however, knew there was one moment they’d end up together: the awards ceremony, where everyone representing the same country would sit together in the auditorium.

Determined not to miss his chance, Matt arrived early and quietly circled the auditorium, waiting for Jen to take her seat. Once she did, he sat right next to her…mission accomplished. When a friend called out from a few rows back, “Hey Matt, why don’t you sit up here?” Matt simply replied, “It’s okay, I’m already sitting.” Nothing was going to derail the plan.

They spent the rest of the day talking, and before it ended, Matt asked for Jen’s number. The rest, as they say, is history.

Fast forward twelve years to the proposal…

Matt popped the question at The Lake House on Canandaigua on what could not have been a more perfect day. In the week leading up to it, Matt was a nervous wreck and went out of his way to avoid Jen, worried he’d give something away.

To throw her off the trail, Matt told Jen they had plans to go golfing with his boss and his boss’s wife on Friday, August 30th. Meanwhile, Jen’s family had arranged a dinner with her grandma at the Rose Tavern at The Lake House on Canandaigua. What Jen didn’t know was that it was all part of Matt’s carefully crafted plan.

When the “golfing plans” were suddenly canceled, Jen and Matt just happened to be free to join the family for dinner instead. Upon arrival, Jen’s mom and dad were already there and casually mentioned that the table wasn’t quite ready yet-despite the restaurant being completely empty. Once again, all part of the plan.

Jen’s mom suggested a walk down to the water to take photos with Jen’s grandma while they waited. The final photo was of Jen and Matt-and that’s when Matt got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

Jen’s response? An immediate, heartfelt, and very confident: “Obviously, yes.”

The night continued with a delicious dinner at the Rose Tavern, followed by celebratory drinks with friends at the New York Beer Project, ending a day they’ll never forget.

We are so grateful for the love that has led us here – and for you, as we begin this next chapter together.

All Our Love, Jen & Matt
